Enhancing Learning
Do you sense that your learners can achieve more than they do at present? How can you best equip them for their lifelong learning journeys?
A teacher once told me that he expected to see rows of faces looking at him, his students listening to what he had to tell them about his subject. Many sixth formers dropped out of his class. With that approach to learning and teaching, how many in Years 7 to 11 would have done the same given the opportunity? He then utilised one aspect of effective learning – VAK – and reported no dropouts, better punctuality and all coursework in – for the first time ever!
Getting more from learners means understanding more about them and how they learn. Letting them in on this information can pay dividends, whether it’s in the classroom, at home, or later in the workplace. For parents wishing to be more supportive, or even wanting to know more about the learner in them, this kind of information is both interesting and useful.
We can no longer focus on subject knowledge alone. In a world where knowledge is available at the click of a mouse, learners need to develop the skills for learning and be aware of the processes so that they can be applied in a range of situations, over a number of years.
All of the courses can be tailored to suit the requirements of your school.
